Legal & access

Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Quill Terminal under the registered business name Quill Terminal. By creating an account, purchasing access, accepting complimentary access, downloading Quill Terminal, or using it, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least the age of majority where you live and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use Quill Terminal for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it. Keep your sign-in account and license key secure, provide accurate account information, and notify support promptly if you believe either has been compromised.

License

Quill Terminal is licensed, not sold. A Quill Terminal Personal subscription, private evaluation, or complimentary grant gives one person a limited, non-transferable right to install and use Quill Terminal on their own supported devices. Paid and complimentary access supports up to 3 devices; a private evaluation supports one. Do not share a license key, resell access, bypass licensing, or redistribute Quill Terminal downloads.

Private 14-day evaluations

Quill Terminal does not offer a general-public trial. The operator may issue selected people a one-time private invitation for a full-featured 14-day evaluation without a payment method. A link may be locked to an email; otherwise it binds to the first verified SSO account that accepts it. The link must be accepted before its displayed deadline. Acceptance starts the fixed evaluation clock, after which the original link is not needed and its expiry does not affect the account. The evaluation cannot be paused or reset by reinstalling, deleting local data, changing the system clock, creating another account, or removing license state. When it ends, editor and send functions are locked until paid or complimentary access becomes active.

Prices, subscriptions, and renewal

The price, currency, billing period, taxes, and total due are shown before purchase. Paddle acts as merchant of record and handles checkout, payment, applicable tax, receipts, and subscription billing. Paid plans renew automatically for the billing period shown at checkout until canceled. Paddle's buyer terms presented at checkout also apply to the payment transaction.

If a renewal payment fails and the subscription becomes past due, new downloads, activations, and online license renewals are paused until Paddle confirms successful recovery. You can update your payment method through the Paddle-hosted portal linked from your account. An offline lease issued before the failure may remain usable only until its signed deadline, no more than 3 days.

Cancellation

You may cancel renewal through the Paddle-hosted portal linked from your Quill Terminal account. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access ordinarily continues through the end of the already-paid period unless the payment is refunded, credited, charged back, or otherwise reversed. Deleting Quill Terminal or stopping use does not by itself cancel a subscription.

Changing billing period

When available for an active subscription, Quill Terminal lets you preview a Paddle-calculated switch between monthly and yearly billing before confirming it. Paddle applies unused-time credits and charges according to the preview shown. A canceled or expired subscription may instead require a new checkout.

Refunds

To request a refund or report an incorrect charge, use the support form or email support@quillterminal.app. Refund requests and mandatory consumer rights are handled under Paddle's buyer terms and refund policy, together with any additional rights required by applicable law. A full approved reversal may end the corresponding paid access.

Acceptable use

Do not use Quill Terminal or its account service unlawfully, to harm others, to interfere with the service, to probe or bypass security or device limits, to automate abusive activation or download traffic, or to distribute malware. You are responsible for the prompts, files, commands, credentials, and other material you use with Quill Terminal.

Software and your work

Quill Terminal may contain defects and its features may change as it is improved. Keep backups of important prompt files and do not depend on Quill Terminal as the only copy of any work. You retain responsibility for the prompts, files, commands, and other content you create or send.

Your provider accounts

Quill Terminal does not include Anthropic, OpenAI, Claude Code, Codex, or other provider service. You are responsible for those accounts, credentials, usage, charges, outputs, and compliance with each provider's terms.

Ownership

You retain ownership of your prompts and files. The Quill Terminal software, website, branding, documentation, and related intellectual property remain proprietary to the operator of Quill Terminal and its licensors. No rights are granted except the limited right to use Quill Terminal described above.

Complimentary access

Beta, giveaway, evaluation, partner, and support access is complimentary, personal, and revocable. The administrator may expire or revoke it, including when a key is shared or the service is abused. Ending complimentary access does not cancel or disable an independently active paid subscription.

Availability and termination

You may stop using Quill Terminal at any time. Access may be suspended for misuse, unlawful activity, payment reversal, attempts to bypass licensing, or material violation of these terms. Quill Terminal is provided without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or suitable for every workflow, to the extent permitted by law.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Quill Terminal is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. AI-provider output may be inaccurate or harmful and must be independently reviewed. To the extent permitted by law, the operator of Quill Terminal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Offline license leases

Paid and complimentary devices receive a signed offline lease lasting no more than 3 days; evaluation devices check in at least every 24 hours. No lease extends past the applicable paid-through, grant, or evaluation end. A past-due payment, earlier refund, or manual revocation blocks new activations and online renewals immediately; an already-offline installation may continue only until its current signed lease expires.

Governing law

To the extent permitted by mandatory consumer law, these terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory rights in your own jurisdiction continue to apply.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as Quill Terminal changes. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, when reasonably required, communicated through the account service. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms. Questions may be sent through the support form or to support@quillterminal.app.

Effective September 2, 2026.
